A Different Kind of Team Building Exercise

On February 25, members of Border City Brawlers gathered at the Windsor Workers’ Action Centre for a special workshop in American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Brawlers member Stormy Pink assembled a crack team of interpreters and members of Windsor’s Deaf community, who gave generously of their time and expertise in order to help us expand our communication skills on and off the track. Together we learned many signs related to derby game play and practice drills.

Stormy Pink and her friends made some fantastic ASL cheat sheets, which we’ll be posting at our practices to help us commit the signs to memory.
